A few days ago , Lotus’ new pure electric supercar concept car Theory 1 was officially released. The new car adopts an all-wheel drive system, with a combined maximum motor power of 1,000 horsepower, an acceleration time of 0-100km/h in about 2.5 seconds, and a top speed of 322km/h.

The overall shape of the Theory 1 concept car continues the essence of the Lotus sports car. Officials say that its design is inspired by the Esprit sports car, but it adds a new "D.N.A." design concept. The three letters represent digital intelligence (D), Human-environment interconnection (N) and mechanical heritage (A) indicate the future design direction of the Lotus brand.

The new car adopts a reverse wing door design and uses a large amount of carbon fiber materials, with a curb weight of less than 1,600 kilograms. In addition, the new car is also equipped with an active diffuser, an intelligently adjustable active rear spoiler, and is equipped with Pirelli P ZERO ELECT tires for electric vehicles and an AP Racing high-performance carbon ceramic brake system. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4490/2000/1140 (mm) respectively, and the wheelbase is 2650mm.

It is worth mentioning that the new car’s interior also uses a laser lighting system.

The interior of the new car adopts a three-seat layout, and the center console, steering wheel, and pedals are all designed to be tilted toward the driver's side. In terms of other configurations, the new car is equipped with a unique steering wheel and is equipped with intelligent ambient lighting, HUD head-up display system, electronic exterior mirror display, and comes standard with a steering-by-wire system that can adjust the steering ratio, steering speed and feel. In addition, the new car is also equipped with OLED internal and external narrow screens, which use digital information at the waistline to display the vehicle status to other road users and pedestrians, as well as remind the driver of the presence of objects or people approaching the vehicle.

As for the seats, the new car uses seat headrests produced by Carbon Company, and has a built-in KEF brand 360 surround sound system. In addition, there are also subwoofers behind the seats. The entire sound system can simulate the sound of a V12 engine and provide immersive sound effects and noise reduction functions. The new car closely follows the footsteps of intelligent driving and is equipped with L4 level autonomous driving functions. It is equipped with 4 foldable lidars, 6 high-definition cameras, long/short-range millimeter wave radar combination and ultrasonic radar, and is equipped with NVIDIA DRIVE computing platform.

In terms of power, the new car adopts an all-wheel drive system. The comprehensive maximum power of the motor reaches 1,000 horsepower, the 0-100km/h acceleration time is about 2.5 seconds, and the top speed is 322km/h.
