Recently, according to media reports, due to lower-than-expected demand for the Taycan, Porsche's factory in Zuffenhausen will soon adjust to single-shift production.
Porsche is consulting with local factory committees and the change is not expected to result in any job losses, but this may only apply to permanent employees. A few weeks ago, Porsche had chosen not to renew the contracts of hundreds of temporary workers. Another important reason for the reduction in production of Taycan models may be related to the recent recall incident.
In early July, Porsche announced a global recall of all Taycan models sold from 2019 to 2024, throughout the entire sales period, with a total of more than 150,000 vehicles. Among them, 31,689 vehicles need to be processed in the United States alone, 11,860 vehicles are involved in Germany, and 17,278 vehicles are involved in China.
According to officials, they discovered a potential safety risk in a front brake system hose that may crack under certain special environmental conditions and cause brake fluid to leak, thereby reducing the vehicle's performance. braking ability, causing potential safety hazards. Currently, if a model has malfunctioned, a warning will be displayed on the dashboard. If the owner notices the warning prompt, he must immediately send the vehicle to a local dealer.
