The European Intellectual Property Office recently ruled that Weilai ES8/ES6 and Audi's S8/S6 do not constitute a likelihood of confusion, and therefore rejected Audi's request.
Previously, Audi filed a lawsuit in Munich, accusing NIO of infringing its trademark rights. Audi said that NIO decided to name its two models ES6 and ES8, and these two names infringed on the trademark rights of Audi S6 and S8.
